In my West London counselling practice, I take a person-centred approach. That means that there isn’t a fixed number of sessions. Being person-centered means moving at the client’s pace rather than following a predetermined programme. Meaningful change happens when people are free to explore their experiences in a supportive, non-judgmental environment, rather than being guided through a set number of sessions.
In practice, many people begin with weekly 1 hour sessions. We can review together how the process is feeling after a few meetings. Some clients find that a small number of sessions is enough to work through a particular issue, while others choose to continue for longer as they explore deeper patterns in their lives. Ultimately, the number of sessions depends on what feels helpful and right for you.
